FAQs
How many nominations do I need to run?
You need at least 15 on-term nominations to run in the presidential election.
What is being the President like, and what do they do?
Candidates should familiarize themselves with the EngSoc Governing Documents (https://www.engsoc.uwaterloo.ca/documents/governance/) to learn about the official role of the President. As well, candidates are encouraged to email either Mariko Shimoda, current A-Soc President (president.a@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca) or Katie Arnold, current B-Soc president (president.b@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca) about the day-to-day role of the President.
Are there any academic eligibility requirements?
Yes, as you must either have:
- Have been successfully promoted from their previous academic term and not be on academic probation; or
- Have attained at least a sixty-five percent (65%) term average in their previous academic term.
