There are many engineering related organizations on campus with which EngSoc deals extensively. Here are some of them
| Student Groups/Teams | ||||
| Alternative Fuels Team | Designing, building and marketing the hydrogen vehicles of the future. Currently competing in the EcoCar challenge, by partnering with General Motors, the Department of Energy and other notable sponsors | |||
| ASIC Design Team | We are a team focused on providing students with hands-on hardware design and fabrication experience, committed to developing various technologies ranging from processors to PLLs and ASIC components. | |||
| Chemical Engineering Society | The Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering (CSChE) Student Chapter of Waterloo | |||
| Clean Snowmobile Team | Waterloo's Clean Snowmobile Team | |||
| Formula SAE | We design, engineer, manufacture, and race an entirely new formula-styled prototype race car every year from the ground up. With our world-renowned level of engineering, we set the benchmarks that 140 other universities aim to achieve. | |||
| GNCTR | Concrete Toboggan Race - an annual undergraduate engineering competition focused on exposing and promoting engineering innovation and excellence at the student level. | |||
| IEEE | Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch of Waterloo | |||
| UW Robotics Team | The UW Robotics Team (UWRT) competes in various competitions each year. | |||
| Midnight Sun | Waterloo's Solar Race Car Project. We always do well. | |||
| Mini-Baja Team | Waterloo's Off-road Mini-Baja Team | |||
| Sustainable Technology Education Project (STEP) | STEP aims to demonstrate, educate, and promote the use of renewable energy technologies. STEP is responsible for the Photovoltaic Solar Panels on Fed Hall. They host speakers, offer field trips to renewable energy installations, hold career symposiums, and party hard to promote the cause. STEP is implementing solar heating technology in the V1 Residence Complex and building a human-powered bicycle generator. STEP's engineers are also building a solar powered house to be entered in the US Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon. Upcoming projects include a micro hydro installation and a wind turbine on campus. | |||
| Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group | We're building autonomous flying vehicles (currently a plane and a hover fan) that conduct recon of pre-identified targets and rescue hostages from hazardous areas! | |||
| Waterloo Space Society | UW Club home to SEDS, CASI and the Mars Society. | |||
