Welcome to Engineering Society A aka Asoc! This fall term is going to be awesome, especially for external events since there are a lot of things planned!
First job in my portfolio is representing you at conferences and to external organizations! This weekend I will be attending ESSCO PM (Engineering students society council of Ontario’s Presidential Meeting) with the rest of the executive team at Ryerson. Next weekend I will also be attending CFES PM (Canadian Federation of Engineering Students’ Presidential Meeting) at Dalhousie, Halifax! Be prepared for an update after these conferences.
Next are some charitable events! One of my favorite charitable events this term is going to be Movember! Movember is awesome because boys can grow their mustaches, and girls can rock a mustache to raise money and awareness for men’s health specifically prostate cancer. http://ca.movember.com/?home . You will also be seeing some puppies and possibly getting a chance to help train and walk national service dogs!
There will be A LOT of community outreach opportunities this term, since the awesome outreach director Kate Heymans, more information about this to come! Maybe Kate will be a guest blogger!
Lastly, watch out for FLOAT day next Wednesday, free floats by donation right outside CPH foyer! Also come to the first engineering society meeting Wednesday September 19 at 5:30!
I am so pumped for this term, it is going to be AWESOME! I promise
Cheers,
Lisa Belbeck
