Conferences are a great opportunity to be a part of the larger engineering community (either provincially or nationally). The each have a special focus so there is something for everyone. Each provides a unique opportunity to gain new leadership skills, have an awesome few days away, and meet new friends from other engineering universities across Canada. Conference for Diversity in Engineering (CDE)
At CDE delegates have the opportunity to learn from great speakers about many aspects of diversity in engineering. The conference is a chance to connect with both a range of people in industry and other Canadian engineering students. CDE includes inclusivity workshops, career opportunities and evenings of fun events and outings.

Conference for Sustainability in Engineering (CSE)
At CSE delegates spend the weekend attending workshops, talks, and educational experiences regarding sustainability and how all aspects of engineering have environmental impacts both. The weekend holds lots of fun for the attendees, a chance to meet other environmentally conscious engineering students, and a great way to learn about how some industries are helping fight climate change.

Canadian Federation of Engineering Students President’s Meeting (CFES PM)
The president’s meeting is an annual conference focused on knowledge sharing between schools, and setting up the term for the new executive team of the CFES. The Vice President Communications and the President of the Engineering Society have the opportunity to speak to other executives from universities across Canada to gain new ideas to bring back to our own community. This conference focuses on how the CFES will operate for the next year to benefit all Canadian engineering students. [No delegates are selected for this conference]
ESSCO CONFERENCES
Engineering Student Societies Council of Ontario Annual General Meeting (ESSCO AGM)
AGM is a place where all the ESSCO member schools come together to discuss best practises, the operations of ESSCO, and how we can strengthen our community. The elections for the next ESSCO executives take place at this conference. Additionally, delegates attend a variety of workshops and seminars with a focus on professional and personal development to help students grow and give them resources to help the engineering community.

First Year Integration Conference (FYIC)
This conference is for first years only. It gives them an opportunity to learn the traditions of engineers in Ontario, and acts as an entry point for first year engineering students to the external engineering student community. The weekend includes a lot of singing, traditions, and learning.

Professional Engineers Ontario Student Conference (PEO-SC)
The PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) is the regulatory body for all engineers practising in the province. This conference brings together future engineers and is chance to learn more about what it means to be a practising engineer, the variety of job opportunities that engineers have, and the impact that an engineer has.

Engineering Student Societies Council of Ontario President’s Meeting (ESSCO PM)
At this conference the VP Communications & President has meetings with the other representatives from other schools’ engineering societies. Here the president of ESSCO addresses all of the representatives and they have a chance to discuss skills and ideas they have as well as issues that have arisen at their school in hopes of getting insight from others. This provides a chance for ESSCO to learn how to better serve, and advocate for all engineering students in the province. [No delegates are selected for this conference]
Hosting a CFES or ESSCO conference will not be accepted by the Waterloo Engineering Society without a majority vote in support of the EngSoc Board of Directors. Please contact chair@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca with any questions and to arrange a time to present your conference proposal/bid.
